Hey, my name  is Seth Croot and I am studying a Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Cyber security. I have always enjoyed technology whether its smartphones to virtual technology. I chose cyber security because I do not think that in the modern age, people realise how big of a problem hacking can be. I am quite a social person and would love to communicate with people who lack the I.T abilities and teach them how to be safer online

Once my course is completed I would be interested in a job as a Security Analyst or possibly a Network Engineer. The main aim of a Security Analyst is to protect a network from any attacks and ways to patch possible pathways that hackers could use to steal valuable information. However, Network Engineers do quite different job tasks which is mostly maintaining and optimising a network and provide user support.

Security Analyst Tasks

  • Conduct daily project coordination of assigned accounts.
  • Give security advice and guidance to technical contacts.
  • Guide clients in defining and implementing overall security strategy, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage status calls with each assigned account.
  • Perform security assessments, risk analysis and vulnerability testing and reviews.
